Azubuike Ekwegbalu, Special Adviser to Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano on Security, has been assassinated.
Reports say the 43year old man who hailed from Ogbunike in Oyi Local Government Area of the State was found dead in his private residence at the Commissioners’ quarters,Awka.
A statement released by the police on Sunday said,Governor Obiano’s SSA on Security, Azubuike Ekwegbalu was discovered in a pool of his blood by security operatives who visited the scene after receiving a report of an alleged murder at about 1.30 am.
However, Ekwegbalu was rushed to COOUTH Awka,but was pronounced dead by the doctors on ground
The statement said the deceased was stabbed with a kitchen knife which was found at the scene as exhibit, Also a lady who allegedly was in the premises has been arrested in connection to his death.
The deceased was said said to be the step brother to the wife of the governor,Osodieme Obiano..
