Buhari wishes Onyeama quick recovery, lauds him for galvanising support for Nigeria against covid-19
President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday wished wished the Minister of Health Geoffrey Onyeama speedy recovery.
The President in a statement by Garba Shehu, his special Assistant on Media and Publicity, described the Minister as a strong pillar of his administration and commended him for his contributions to efforts to contain the spread of Covid-19 and also ensuring the safety of Nigerians abroad .
“He said’ The country is eternally grateful to Onyeama for his diligence in attracting international support for Nigeria to defeat the coronavirus pandemic and boost the economy, l wish him speedy recovery.”
The Minster had announced on Sunday that he tested positive for coronavirus after testing negative for the virus for four times.
The Minster who disclosed this in his Twitter handle said he was heading for isolation in a health facility.
He said he decided to take the covid -19 test on Saturday following a throat irritation.
Onyeama said” I did my fourth Covid -19 test Yesterday at the first sign of a throat irritation and unfortunately this time it came back positive. That is life! Win some lose some. Heading for isolation in a health facility and praying for the best’.
