The Spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Presidential Campaign Council ( PDP PCC) Dino Melaye on Monday challenged the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC over discrepancies in the collation of Kwara State Presidential results.
The Senator had queried INEC over its failure to release the results of polling units side by side with results collated at the state level on the National collation screen
However,in stating his observation,Dino displayed a rather combative and unruly behavior by walking up close to the podium to challenge the result in a manner that suggested that his party may be heading towards defeat..
His action was reminiscence of the behavior of a former Niger Delta Minister,Chief Godsday Orubebe during the declaration of results of the 2015 presidential election where the then sitting president,Goodluck Jonathan was defeated by Muhammadu Buhari.
Inspite of explanation by the INEC National Chairman,Prof. Mahmoud that the results emanated from the ward level to state and National collation centres, Dino failed to see reason warning that the action of INEC could land officials in prison.
