The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has dissociated itself from a pastor of the church caught in compromising position with the wife of a member of the church in Akure,Ondo State.
In a statement released by the church’s spokesperson,Olatan Olubiyi, the church said that the erring pastor Gideon Bakare had tarnished the image of the church and is hereby excommunicated and relieved of all Ministerial duties in the mission.
Bakare was said to have attempted the act of adultery in the matrimonial home of the woman involved.
The church described the act as a behaviour against the core values of doctrines, beliefs and practices of the RCCG and the word of God adding all official items in his possession are to be returned and he is to stay away from all that concerns the mission with immediate effect.
