The Vice Chairman of the Benue State Action Commitee on Covid-19, Professor Godwin Achinge has died from Covid-19 complications.
Ashinge died on Saturday afternoon at undisclosed hospital in Jos, the Plateau State Capital.
Until his death he was also the Vice Chancellor Academics of Benue State University.
Achinge was said to have been taken to a hospital in Jos after he tested positive for coronavirus and was receiving treatment until his death.
Meanwhile top government officials of Benue State have tested positive and are self isolating.
Those affected are the wife of the governor, the son, the Secretary to the state government,, Chief of Staff,Head of Service and other prominent individuals
Governor Samuel Ortom disclosed this at press briefing in Makurdi on Saturday.
