Breaking:Wike’s curfew suffers as gunmen storm Rivers community, kill two

Taabaa town in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State has been thrown into mourning following killing of two members of the community by unknown gunmen on Friday night.

A source in the community told current matters that the gunmen stormed the town about 9.30 pm shooting sporadically.

According to the source, 3 other members of the community are in coma as a result of injuries sustained from gunshots.

The source added that the intent of the attack had not been established even as he disclosed that the people are still counting their losses in person and property.

The attack comes barely a week after the state Governor, Nyesom Wike, imposed a night curfew on entry and exit points of the state

The governor said his decision was based on arresting the increasing rate of Insecurity in the state.

A few days before the curfew was imposed, gunmen suspected to be non indigenes killed security personnel along checkpoints in Ikwerre and Abua local government areas.

The Taabaa attack showed that the government night curfew might not be effective especially in towns and villages.
