
The Senate has confirmed the reppointment of Professor Mamood Yakubu as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.
The Upper House of the National Assembly gave the confirmation during plenary on Tuesday.
Yakubu will is now empowered to take over his office for another five years.
The 58 year-old Electoral umpire was first appointed in November 2015 and concluded his first tenure on November 9 2020
His appointment was renewed by President Muhammadu Buhari, making him the first to be reappointed for the electoral top job.
