
A house help,Telema Amaso has been sentenced to death by hanging by a Port Harcourt High Court on Tuesday,presided over by Justice Silverline Iragonima for strangling Helen Ibiba Bobmanuel in 2013 at her residence in the Woji area of the state.
According to the judgement, Amaso and her partner,Ndubuisi Chukuemeka were earlier tried for murder, conspiracy to murder and stealing.
Justice Iragonima while delivering her judgement said the first and second defendants were convicted because of overwhelming evidence before the Court, including the confessional statements given to the police on which the judgement was relied upon.
