The Women in Security Summit and Awards 2026 has been rescheduled for 5th August, 2026 in Abuja.
This followed after a critical meeting of the WINSEC 2026 Central Planning Committee and after a careful review of issues of national importance.
The meeting, chaired by the National Chairperson of NAWOJ, Hajia Aisha Ibrahim, resolved that the previously scheduled date of Tuesday, June 30, 2026, be rescheduled to Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
“Please note that all other arrangements, including the venue, remain unchanged”.
In a statement after the meeting, “the leadership of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) and its collaborating partners sincerely regret any inconvenience this change may have caused our distinguished guests, revered personalities, award recipients, sponsors, well-wishers, and other critical stakeholders”.
“We wish to assure the general public that WINSEC Summit & Awards 2026, the first initiative of its kind in Nigeria, will be hosted on Wednesday August 5th, 2026, and promises to be a landmark event that will set a new standard of excellence and remain memorable for years to come”.
“We deeply appreciate your understanding, patience, and continued support, and look forward to welcoming you to an impactful and successful event”, the statement concluded.
