The Police Command in Zamfara State has confirmed the killing of an Imam and 4 other worshippers by terrorists in a Mosque at ‘Yandoton Daji town of Tsafe Local Government Area.
In a statement, the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, Ibrahim Maikaba says the terrorists invaded the Mosque on Friday when the victims were observing the morning prayer, and shot sporadically, there by killing the Imam and the 4 other worshippers.
According to the statement, the terrorists also abducted 3 persons from the Mosque.
CP Maikaba gave the names of the deceased victims as Sale Dangero, 75, Mamman Yaro, 72, Lawali Bataribas, 67, Malam Jafaru a retired ASP, 68 and Malam Safiyanu, 55.
The Police Commissioner also identified the kidnapped persons as Danyaye Alhaji Gambo, Malam Basiru and Ibrahim Bello.
