A teenager from Kano, Nigeria, Ibrahim Bala has invented anti-sleep eyeglasses that alert drivers by ringing when they close their eyes,
The aim is to helpi keep them awake and in control while driving. The inspiration for this device came after a road traffic accident that tragically took the lives of some Kano sportsmen, which was attributed to the driver dozing off.
This is how the Device Works:
The glasses are designed to detect when a driver’s eyes are closed.
When the eyes are closed, the eyeglasses ring, providing an alert to wake the driver up.
What Motivates the Invention:
The invention was inspired by a serious road accident involving sportsmen from Kano.
The accident was a result of the driver falling asleep at the wheel.
Bala’ aim to prevent such accidents by providing a solution to drowsy driving.
