Incumbent governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress APC has been declared winner of the November 16 Governorship Election in Ondo State beating his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP to return to Government House.
Aiyedatiwa polled 366,781 votes to defeat Agboola who scored 117,845 votes while the Labour party candidate,placed a distant third position polling 1,162 in a contest reported to have been marked by vote buying.
Announcing the declaration at the Collation centre in Akure, the Ondo capital,the Returning Officer for the election,Olayemi Akinwumi said “That Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa having satisfied the requirement of the law is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected.
