The Transmission Company of Nigeria TCN says one of its critical infrastructures, the Shiroro – Katampe 330kV transmission line has been vandalised.
In a statement on Sunday signed by Ndidi Mbah, General Manager, Public Affairs said the transmission line tripped off at about 9 am on Sunday and efforts to restore the line was unsuccessful
According to the spokesperson, further efforts by personnel of the company led to confirmation of vandalisation of the300kV Shiroro – Katampe transmission line 1, from Towers 244-245 and the conductors
The TCN ” is currently working for conductor replacement , pending completion of security operations at the site” adding that the acts of sabotage are unacceptable and urged relevant security groups and host communities to collaborate in apprehending the perpetrators”
