The Wife of the Cross River State Governor, Pastor Eyoawan Bassey Otu has extolled the virtues of “Women” in terms of their various roles in society ranging from being housewives taking care of the home to doing other jobs to help their families which she described as unpaid .
She said ” At least,we know that women do a lot
You go through a lot. They call it unpaid worker.
“Woman is the alarm clock. Woman is the cleaner. Woman is the washerman, Woman is the carpenter. Woman is the Nanny, woman is the real wife, woman is the quack doctor”..
Mrs Otu who made this known on Friday when she addressed Cross Riverian Women on International Women’s Day praised women for their untiring contributions to society and advocated the support for women and their wellbeing
The event which was a gathering of women cutting across different strata of the society also had cultural displays, food exhibition and sports competition among others..
