President Muhammadu Buhari has sworn in ex – Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase as the new Chairman of the Police Service Commission ( PSC)
Arase was sworn in during the Federal Executive Council meeting at the presidential villa on Wednesday morning.
President Buhari nominated the former IGP and forwarded his name to the senate for confirmation on the 24th of January,2023.
The Senate during plenary on the 25th of January confirmed his appointment. However, soon after his confirmation, some chieftains and supporters of the All Progressives Congress APC alleged that he was a card carrying member of the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.and that his appointment would mar the chances of the ruling party at the general elections.
