
Lagos State Government has commenced investigation into complaint of a parent whose ten-year- old child was expelled from school for using a poster of Peter Obi,one of the candidates in the presidential election to wrap his books.
The incident reportedly occurred at Odomola Junior Secondary School in the Epe area of the state.
As a first step, the state governor, Babajide Sanwo- Olu has given approval for the recall of the Principal of the Odomola Junior Secondary School the Ministry of Education has said.
The Commissioner of Education,Mrs Folashade Adefisayo who made the announcement on Wednesday said the principal would be asked to explain the situation.
She said “No school principal, staff member, or teacher would ever be given instructions from the Lagos State Government, the Ministry of Education, or any of its agencies to act in such a manner,”
Adefisayo reassured that the situation would be handled in line with laid down regulations adding that the reason for sending the student home if true is unacceptable
The commissioner disclosed that the other Odonguyan school principal who was seen on tape pushing her political choice to the pupils and whose image was posted on social media had been dealt with appropriately stating,
“The Ministry supports and oversees a public education system free of politics and political undertones.
