Kano lawmaker wants Emefiele sacked over ailing monetary system, interrogates Atiku’s relationship with CBN governor.

The Member representing Gwale constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Yusuf Babangida Sulaiman has called on both chambers of the National Assembly and States Houses of Assembly to pass a vote-of-no confidence on the governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele.

In a statement in Kano Wednesday, Babangida said Kano state as the centre of Commerce in Nigeria is having the worst experience saying there is no cash in people’s pockets and hands, and no cash in Bank ATMs and POS outlets.

The lawmaker said that systems that are supposed to enable migration to online platforms are either intruded on by cybercriminals or suffering inadequate network signals.

“The CSOs and NGOs must also unanimously rise and ask for Emefiele’s exit as he has led a sequence of years that have decimated our Naira, our trade and commerce, our systems and our general living conditions”

“He has built an ailing monetary system anchored on mere speculation, bogus loans and insider dealing, while consistently fuelling uncertainty and low morale for the real sector” Hon. Yusuf stressed.

Babangida expressed concern over the manner the opposition PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar have been at the fore of applauding Emefiele’s recent actions saying” it is desirable to critically consider who exactly the CBN Governor is working for. As the PDP has rightly observed, the “slight extension” supposedly granted for use of old notes was muted by Atiku Abubakar and has continued to be celebrated by the PDP”.

The APC Presidential Candidate AsiwajuTinubu and Nigerians from all walks of life have rejected the policy .

Yesterday, the governor of Kaduna State said the policy was ill-timed and designed by those around President Muhammadu Buhari to scuttle APC and Bola Tinubu’s chances in the coming election.

The wife of the president, Aisha Buhari also on social media, supported El -Rufai ‘s claim of people around the president trying to stop Tinubu’s victory at the polls.
