Breaking:Pandemonium in old Port Harcourt Township as gunshots verberate in alleged jail break. 

Exchange of gunfire alarmed the neighborhood of the Port Harcourt Maximum Security Prison mid Monday as residents reveal a jail break by inmates.

The prison is said to be the most populated in the country with nearly 5000 inmates.

The Vice President,Yemi Osinbajo decrying the state of the prison during a public presentation of 3 volumes of prison survey report in 2018, said anyone remanded in Port Harcourt Maximum Security Prison will come out as an animal.

Calls to prison officials are being diverted while vehicles going towards Creek road which borders the walls of the prison have also diverted to adjoining streets.
