….Want suspected students placed on No- Fly- list
The House of Representatives has called on the Inspector General of Police to take over the investigation into the death o Sylvester Oromoni, a student of Dowen College, Lagos.
The House while reacting to a motion of urgent public importance raised by Rep Unyime Idem, in Tuesday’s plenary, resolved that the Inspector General of Police ( IGP) needed to immediately take over the investigation and prosecution of the perpetrators so as to bring them those involved in the heinous act to justice.
Idem had condemned in strong terms recent incidences of inhuman treatment and abuses going on in boarding schools across the country.
Notable among such victims of illtreatment and abuses were 12- year -old Sylvester Oromoni of Dowen College,Lekki, Lagos and 14- year -old Karen Happuchi Akpagher of Premier Academy, Lugbe, Abuja
The House thereafter, mandated its committee on Education,Youth Development, and Women Affairs and Social Development to follow up with the investigation.
