A governorship aspirant in Zamfara in the 2019 governorship election, Alhaji Sagir Hamidu, has been shot dead.
Hamidu was killed by unknown gunmen on Sunday evening on Kaduna- Abuja Highway while returning from weekend.
. Hamidu, a former director in the federal civil service and business man, aspired to govern Zamfara State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress APC in 2019, but was reportedly denied following alleged manipulations and gimmicks by the former governor,Abdulaziz Yari .
