To Mrs Patricia Mpigi, the wife of the Senator representing Rivers South East Barinada Mpigi, nothing was more gratifying than to return glory to God for enabling her the privilege of a golden birthday.
Mrs Mpigi, holder of Bachelor and Masters in Economics majoring in Monetary ,University of Port Harcourt, was born on October 25,1971 . She is the third child and first female in a family of five. Mrs Mpigi is christian,and a deaconess at the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
Born and brought up in Lagos, Little did Mrs Mpigi fondly called Pat by her friends know that Port Harcourt where she had been offered admission to study would be where her destiny lay ..
An elated celebrant disclosed how she met her husband ,how their first meeting turned to love resulting in her wonderful family .
” I met Barry at my friend’s house at Rumuodomaya . I had gone home after Uniport holiday and resumed to start another semester when the school authorities directed a further 2 weeks extension to allow ongoing renovation in the school.So I went to stay with My friend Oby at Rumuodomaya.. I had barely settled down when someone came and knocked on the door calling! Oby,Oby, open the door. I heard there is a Lagos girl staying with you. Oby replied’ Of all the girls you have you are still looking for Lagos girl?
” We eventually met and one thing led to another.
Pat described her husband as God’s gift to her saying he fears God and his respect for fellow human beings makes him unable to hurt anyone.
Mrs Mpigi thanked her husband for celebrating her adding although she has turned 50, She feels 20 and wishes to remain so God helping her.
When asked about what attributes turn him around his wife, the distinguished senator Mpigi said ” Her Simplicity,Love and Motherly role.”
Several Persons including Abuja and Rivers political office holders attended the birthday which was dedicated to praise.
At the head of the Rivers delegation was SSG, Tammy Danagogo who in his goodwill message State described Mrs Mpigi as respectful and receptive.
Former Governors now serving Senators Orji Uzor Kalu, and Ibrahim Shekarau extolled her humane qualities and prayed for God’s guidance and more years of favour for the celebrant and family.
Her colleagues, former and present,Wives of House of Representatives Members Wives and Senators turned out to honour their own.
Speaking for the Senators wives,Mrs Yemisi Suswam said their association was lucky to have Mrs Mpigi as member as her entrance ushered in a new dawn energizing members to collectively commit their spouses to God.
An Abuja- based band Classiqjue Elders were on hand to warm up the occasion with traditional, gospel music performance making dance irrepressible.
