The traditional ruler of Ewu- Ekiti,in lKejemeje Local Government Area of Ekiti State,Oba Adetutu Ajayi, has been shot by gunmen.
Ajayi was shot on Friday night on his way to a neighbouring community, Ayetoro Ekiti in Ido/ Osi Local Government Area of the state.
The monarch however, escaped with serious injuries on his legs arms and stomach and is said to be receiving treatment at an undisclosed tertiary medical facility.
The State Police Public Relations Officer,( PPRO), Sunday Abutu confirmed the incident.
Abutu said the command was worried that such attack could take place inspite of the Command’s efforts to rid the state of criminals.
He however, assured that the command would continue to work with sister security outfits to ensure that criminality was wiped out of Ekiti.
