One person was killed while two were critically injured on Wednesday in Zamfara State during the reunion of the school girls with their parents.
It was gathered that the military shot the victims when locals vented their anger over long speeches by governmentt officials threw stones and other weapons at the governmentt officials.
Many of the parents who travelled long distances to be reunited with their children were lamenting on the long duration of the occasion since they would need to travel back to their various communites.
The locals in sympathy with the parents, invaded the school premises and disrupted the process while governmentt officials were making remarks before handing over the childrren.
Government officials including the Zamfara State Commissioner of Education, Ibrahim Abdullahi, reportedly fled the scene while the hoodlums attacked vehicles conveying vehicles.
