Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has won the alleged certificate forgery suit filed by the All Progressives Congress ( APC).against him.
Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court,Abuja while delivering judgement on Saturday afternoon said the APC failed to prove the certificate forgery allegation beyond reasonable doubt.
The APC and a chieftain,Mr Wiliam Edobor had sued the governor after the September 19 governoship election in Edo State accusing him of presenting fake certificate for the election.
Obaseki on Tuesday, called 3 witnesses , including the Deputy Registrar Legal ,University of Ibadan and a Professor of Comparative Politics also of the same university who attested to the originality of the certificates tendered by the governor .
However, following the trend poltical gladiators behave,it would not be out of place to see the case going to the Appeal Court and lastly, the Apex, to finally douse tension and give governance and peace a chance.
