A young woman, Faith Alhassan has been arrested by the Kaduna State Police Command for killing her infant daughter.
Alhassan 20, reportedly threw her baby into a well to pave way for her marriage to her former boyfriend.
The suspect who holds a Senior School Certificate Examination WASSCE Certificate said she only came to terms with the offence she committed when she saw the corpse of her daughter.
According to the Kaduna State Police Command, the corpse of the baby was found in a well at Gantan village of Kachia Local Government Area of the state.Upon the receipt of the report,an investigation was carried out which subsequently confirmed the mother, Alhassan, as the culprit.
Alhassan was said to have gone to the village of her ex boyfriend,Dollan Yakubu whom she dumped years ago She allegedly sneaked to the well area in the night and dumped the baby in the well after the father of her ex-boyfriend complained about the child.
The state Police Commissioner,Umar M Muri said she will be charged to court.
