
The Federal Government has begun the disbursement of N20,000 conditional cash transfer to poor rural women in Bauchi State
The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development,Paulen Tallen said over 1000 women are expected to receive the grant.
Tallen who disclosed this during the first phase of the disbursement of the funds to beneficiaries in Bauchi State said those identified as widows,petty traders, and vulnerables are beneficiaries of the conditional cash transfer.
As of June,2018, Nigeria overtook India as the country with the most extremely poor people in the world .
According to the World Poverty Clock,86.9 million Nigerians are living in extreme poverty.which imples that 50 percent of the population are extremely poor.
