Frank Ibezim ,previously cleared to represent the All Progressives Congress( APC )in the Imo North Senatorial district bye-election,on Friday, had his victory nullified by a Federal High Court in Owerri the Imo State capital.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Garba Ringim who declared the election a nullity, ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission( INEC) to replace Ibezim with Senator Ifeanyi Ararume as the rightful winner of the APC primaries conducted on September 3, 2020.
According to him, Ibezim’s candidacy was nullified as a result of non participation in the September 3 APC primary
Justice Ringim explained that the APC screening commitee had petitioned that Ibezim and five others were disqualified for not meeting basic requirements adding that any vote alloted to him was a nullity.
