As Ondo State goes to the polls on Saturday, October 10 ,to elect a new governor, reports Sunday morning have revealed exchange of gunfire ongoing between supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP )in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The shooting taking place on Oba Adesida Road is said to be an escalation of Saturday’s clash between the two parties in which a supporter of the APC was killed.
Residents in the area said, one person was killed on Sunday morning while many are injured however, the PDP has claimed that two persons were killed and blamed the NURTW members supporting incumbent governor Rotimi Akeredolu for the incident.
