Yemisi Baderu, wife of the Chief Imam of Ayere community in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, has been killed in an attack said to be first of it’s kind in the community.
Baderu was said to have been murdered in front of her husband and children on Thursday night by assailants who allegedly attacked her with a cutlass.
The Spokesman of the Kogi State Police Command,Willy Aya, said the command has arrested three of the suspects linked to the attack and Investigations have commenced.
Expressing shock and sadness over the dastardly killing, the Alayere of Ayere,Oba JO Olubo, urged the police not to release the culprits until Investigation is concluded and they are prosecuted.
He called on the police and other law enforcement agencies to beam their search light on the community with a view of ridding it of criminals.
The Chief security officer of the local government area has in an effort to bring perpetrators to book, imposed a dusk to dawn curfew in the community..The curfew is slated between 7 in the evening and 7 in the morning
