Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has accused the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC,Adams Oshiomole, and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, as the masterminds of Thursday’s invasion of the Edo State House of Assembly by a contingent of the Nigerian Police..
Obaseki who spoke to BBC Pidgin through Crusoe Osagie his media aide, on Thursday said the duo were trying to cause tension in Edo State ahead of the governoship election that is slated for September 19,2020.
The Edo Governor and Speaker, had stormed the House of Assembly complex, to see police invasion of the complex and reportedly asked the security operatives out of the premises.
It was gathered that the Speaker of the Assembly, Francis Okiye, also gave an order of no entry into the state Assembly Complex.
Meantime, Youths are having a good time preparing for renovation of the Assembly complex as they have begun deroofing of the legislative complex.
Earlier Thursday, reports alleged plot by the All Progressives Congress to impeach the Speaker through the back door of getting a fake mace that would appear to give credence to impeachment of the Speaker,Okiye and by so doing,remove Obaseki from Office.
So far, the Benin atmosphere appears to be temporarily calm after the tension that engulfed the ancient city in the early Thursday.
