Three Policemen have drowned in a canal while chasing weed smokers. 

Three Police officers attached to Oyo Atiba Police Division of the Oyo State Police Command have lost their lives while chasing hoodlums smoking Indian hemp

It was gathered that the Policemen carried out a raid in the area on July 12, and trailed some hoodlums who were smoking weed , running to a canal

Reports say one of the hoodlums having mastered the terrain, jumped into the water and the Policemen jumped after him and were washed away by the flooded canal

The state Police Public Relations Officer,Olugbenga Fadeyi confirmed the incident and said that four suspects have been arrested over the incident
