Communities in Awka North local government Area of Anambra state have alleged devastation of their farmlands by herdsmen.
The communities numbering 10 said the attacks by the herdsmen have become a daily occurrence in the area.
A community leader and former chairman of the local government, Chief Shadrack Anakwue told newsmen that the situation is alarming as those whose livelihood depended on farmlands no longer have any source of income.
He accused some leaders of communities for ‘settlement’ with the herders, a situation he said has generated more trouble for farmers.
