Ize-Iyamu puts election behind, says he is ready to work with Obaseki

.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in the September 19 governoship election in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-iyamu has declared his intention to work with the winner of the election,Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Ize-Iyamu made his position known during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday.

Ize-Iyamu appealed to Obaseki to come back to the APC where he truly belongs. He advised him not to make the same mistake he (Ize-iyamu) made before.

He said”In APC,he is recognised as a leader, but in the new party,he is,it will be difficult for them to accept him ( Obaseki) as a leader”

The governoship candidate who had a closed door meeting with the APC Caretaker Committee Chairman and governor of Yobe State,Mai Mala Buni and his Kogi counterpart, Yahaya Bello earlier on Wednesday, fuelled speculation about talks bordering on accepting the outcome of the election.

With his declaration of support for the winner, the coast is clear for Obaseki as the party might have rested any move to challenge the results of the election in court.
