The All Progressives Congress APC candidate in Saturday, September 21 Gubernatorial election in Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo has emerged winner of the election having scored the highest vote cast of ..291,667. against his closest rival, PDP ‘sAsue Ighodalo’s 237,000 votes
Announcing the final results, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC returning officer ,Prof Faruk Adamu said that Okpebholo, having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby returned.scored is elected governor of the edo state.
In the election observed as keenly contested in some quarters and marred by vote buying and rigging in some others, the candidates of the APC and the PDP showed impressive performances out of the seventeen political parties that entered the race , while Labour party merely trailed behind.
