Balarebe Abbas Lawal,one of the 3 Ministerial nominees recently sent to the Senate for confirmation collapsed shortly after reading his bio – data during screening at the Senate on Wednesday afternoon.
Lawal, who hails from Kaduna state replaces former governor,Nasir El – Rufai for the portfolio of Environment Minister.
A seasoned technocrat and politician,Lawal had rolled out his plans for the Ministry of Environment if confirmed as Minister and was fielding questions from the Senators when he collapsed.
Meanwhile, efforts are on to resuscitate him as the Senate has also extended its sitting period to accommodate more Ministerial nominees for the screening exercise.
