
The incumbent governor of Oyo State,Seyi Makinde has been Re- elected for another four years in office.
Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP polled 563,756 to defeat his closest rival, Telsim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress APC who scored 256,685 in March 18 gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections in the state.
Makinde won in 31 local government areas while Folarin , a three term Senator won two in the election described by observers as keenly contested.
The Oyo governor is one of the G-5 governors whose fight for power shift in the PDP largely determined the outcome of the presidential election on February 25.
