
The Independent National Electoral Commission,( INEC,) has further extended the deadline for collection of Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, nationwide.
INEC arrived at the decision during a meeting of the Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu with the Resident Electoral Commissioners, RECs, from the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Friday
Yakubu said that the Commission will not hesitate to consider additional measures to ensure that all citizens have ample opportunity to collect their PVCs ahead of the general election.
Being satisfied with reports of progress of large turn out by Nigerians to collect their PVCs, the commission
therefore, announced the extension of collection of PVCs in all its local government offices by one week.
According to a statement credited to Festus Okoye,lNEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education “The ongoing collection of PVCs nationwide will therefore continue and end on 5th February 2023,”
