
Rivers State Governor,Sir Siminialayi Fubara has urged the State House of Assembly members to work with him in the interest of the state.
The governor made the call on Wednesday during the inauguration of the extended and dualised 28.4 kilometre Ahoada – Omoku road
He said it was important to clarify that there is no rift between him and the lawmakers in the state describing claims of strained relations with the lawmakers as baseless.
Fubara further debunked claims that he was avoiding the lawmakers and said that arrangements had been made for a meeting with them.
The governor explained that the planned meeting was expected to be convened by the Minister of the FCT and some leaders including elder statesman,Chief Feddy Alabraba
He said that anyone who is alleging that he refused to meet with lawmakers or reject proposals “is not telling the truth”.
Fubara also used the forum to announce his defection to the All Progressives Congress APC saying that the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President has come to stay and assured that he would carry out its evangelism to all parts of the state.
He recalled that the Ahoada – Omoku road extension was one of his campaign promises to be people of the area noting that it would ease movement and boost commerce as well as enhancing the socio – economic wellbeing of the people in the area.
Gov. Fubara announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party PDP to the APC at a meeting with stakeholders at Government House on Tuesday, where he was quoted as saying his defection had already been approved by President Bola Tinubu.
