Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu arrived in Accra , Ghana, Monday to attend the inauguration of President-elect John Mahama on Tuesday January 7, 2025.
President Tinubu arrived at the Kotoka International Airport and was received by the Chief of Staff to Ghana President, Julius Debra.
Mahama was elected the 12th president of Ghana between 2011 and 2017 and was reelected in December 2024 after defeating Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia of the governing New Patriotic Party.The president – elect succeeds President Nana Akuffo-Addo, who was elected in 2017 and won reelection in 2020
Tinubu, as Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, would join other African leaders at the ceremony.
