Hours after President Joe Biden announced his exit from the US presidential race and handed the baton to Vice President , Kamala Harris the purse of the Democratic Party has seen a significant increase with no less than $27.5m donations .
Also, top Democrats including Governors whose names have been linked as potential nominees to replace the president have all endorsed Harris to fly the party flag in the November 5 general election .
Reacting to her endorsement as President Biden’s replacement,, Harris said she’s honoured by the endorsement and promised to “earn and win nomination” for her party.
At the moment, polls showed that she is doing better than Biden in Key battleground states .
Should she get the ticket and win the election, Harris who is described as a woman of “first” would be the first woman to be elected president of the United States.
