
The American International School Abuja AISA has admitted that the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello paid the sum of $843,000 to the school in advance for his Children’s fees for 5 years.
In a letter to the EFCC, the school admitted that Bello made the payment in September 2021 and has agreed to refund the sum of $760,000 after deducting the educational services rendered to the ex – governor’s children since 2021.
” We have calculated the net amount to be transferred and refunded to the State after deducting the educational services rendered as $760,910,84( Seven Hundred and Sixty Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ten US Dollars and Eighty Four cents).
” No further additional fees are expected in respect of tuition as the students ‘ fees have now been settled until they graduate from AISA “.
The embattled former governor is facing trial at the Federal High Court Abuja on a 19- count charge bordering on money laundering and misappropriation of public funds to the tune of N80.2Billion.
