
The National Association of Nigerian Students NANS has elected Pedro Chibuzor Obi, a Phd student of Guidance and Counseling studies of the Delta State University as its new President.
In the election reportedly characterised by tension, shootings, Obi scored 212 votes to defeat his closest rival, Lucky Emonefe who got 83 votes.
The election was held at the old parade ground, Abuja.
Obi succeeds Usman Barambu whose tenure expired paving the way for a new team to oversee the students’ body.
NANS had zoned the position of president to Zone B – the South South..
