The Minister of Information and National Orientation Alhaji Mohammed Idris says technological advancement is defining broadcasting in the twenty first century.
The Minister stated this during an interview with Radio Nigeria after inspecting digital equipment displayed by manufacturers at the 2023 AFRICAST holding in Lagos.
Idris who went from stand to stand having a first hand knowledge of equipment displayed by different manufacturers commended the high Level of technological innovation being introduced into the industry
He said the President Bola Tinubu’s administration would be in the fore front in introducing technology especially in the public media houses.
The Minister also urged the content producers to support the administration in fighting fake news, misinformation and disinformation in the industry.
On his part, the Director General National Broadcasting Commission Mr Charles Ebuebu who welcomed participants to the event said the commission would work tirelessly to ensure Nigeria switched over from analogue to digital broadcasting soon.
Content producers and manufacturers from over 30 countries are participating in the event programme which ends on Thursday .
