No Law says INEC Must Electronically Transmit Results, Use of BVAS optional – Tribunal

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal says that the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC regulations and the Electoral Act Electoral Act allows for manual collation of results pointing out that electronic transmission is optional .

While acknowledging that the BVAS is the only device INEC must use for elections, the court
noted that there is no regulation showing BVAS must be used to electronically transmit results from polling units arguing that the law simply empowers INEC to use its discretion to decide the means of collating election results

Meanwhile, the Tribunal has ruled that there was no record of criminal conviction established against President Bola Tinubu

The five – member panel of justices headed by Justice Haruna Tsammani said that Peter Obi and the Labour party LP failed To prove that Tinubu was convicted for money laundering In the US
