The three -man panel of judges of the Kogi state Election Petition Tribunal on Wednesday nullified the election of the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District,,Sen Abubakar Ohere and declared Natasha Akpoti – Uduaghan of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP as winner.
The panel headed by Justice K.A Orjiako said that results of the APC Senator declared in 9 polling units were inflated while the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC intentionally reduced the votes of Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan in the same local government area.
It added that INEC failed to record results from three other polling units in the same local government area to deliberately deprive Natasha of her authentic scores
It therefore ordered Sen. Ohere to pay Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan the sum of N500,000 as cost of the petition.
