Five persons have been confirmed dead while six others were rescued from a boat mishap at Kanwa Dam in Madobi Local Government Area of Kano state,
This was made known to newsmen by the State Fire Service Spokesman,Saminu Abdullahi on Sunday.
He quoted an account of an eye witness,one Umar Farouk as saying that the ” incident occurred on April 22,at about 05.40 p.m
.
“There are 11 persons on the boat, six were rescued alive, while five were rescued in an unconscious state.
“Names of those that lost their lives in the mishap are Abdulrazak Nabara, 40; Dalha Muktar-Atamma, 40; Mustapha Ibrahim, 45; Umar Isah, 35, and Umar Idris, 35,” he said.
He said the victims were from Fagge in Fagge Local Government Area of the state adding that investigations into the cause of the mishap had commenced .
