The Nigerian Correctional Service ( NCoS says it has reinforced security at the Ikoyi Custodial Center and Kirikiri Medium, Female and Maximum Security prison.
Spokesman of the Service in the state,Rotimi Oladokun who confirmed this to newsmen said the service personnel have been placed on alert adding that it is synergising with sister agencies to forestall any problem adding that it would be difficult for criminals to successfully launch a jailbreak in Lagos correctional facilities.
” Nigerians would remember how men of the Lagos NCoS and other agencies foiled an attempted jailbreak by some inmates of Ikoyi Custodial Center in October 2020.
” The inmates wanted to take advantage of the #EndSARS protest and enforced curfew to stage a jailbreak” he said.
