Chu Okongwu,a former Minister during the regime of General Babangida has passed away.
He died on Wednesday at age 87.
Okongwu was appointed by the Babangida administration first as Minister of Finance from 1985-1986 and later as Minister of National Planning from 1986-1990
He was as Minister of Cabinet Affairs by same administration and later served as Petroleum Minister.
Okongwu was an Economist having trained by the Boston University in Economic Theory and later Harvard University in the United States.
