
Dr Samia Salihu Hassan has been sworn in as the first female president of Tanzania following the death of President John Magufuli on Wednesday, March 17 of undisclosed medical situation which opposition claimed was covid related.
The 61 – year- old Hassan who was the Vice President of the country until Friday’s swearing in, swore to be honest and obey the constitution of Tanzania.
She has been mandated to continue the remaining five years of the late president.
