The Federal Government has announced January 5,2020 as official take off of the 774 jobs under the Public Works Programme
The programme is designed to quickly respond to grinding poverty at the lowest level of society vulnerable to economic downtowns.
To this end, the Federal Government is employing 1000 Nigerians from each of the 774 local government areas in the country.Beneficiaries are to be paid 20,000 each for 3 months of work.
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo who made the announcement on Twitter on Sunday evening said all NDE structures at the state level are prepared for the take off ceremonies.
The Programme was originally set for take off on October 1,2019 but due to interests and powerplay between the National Assembly and Keyamo on one hand, and Keyamo and the former DG of NDE,Nasir Ladan on the other hand, the programme could not take off.
